This is such an interesting topic, because this is one of the "main" makeup mistakes Filipinas fall for. Blush is like the ultimate makeup for girls, and yes, we do need to learn what type of blushes is appropriate for our skin types (especially asian skin) and what colors are most flattering.
CHOOSING YOUR BLUSH TYPE
There are a a lot of different blush types out there, gels, creams, tints/stains, powders etc. Choosing what type of blush is probably the hardest part (for me at least) a girl could face! (well second to choosing a foundation).
1. Powder Blush
Every girls first experience with blush would obviously be a powder blush, its very long wearing and great for all skin types. This type of blush would definitely benefit those with oily skin, since its very thick.

1. Mac Powder Blush, 2. NYX Blush, 3. Nars Blush, 4. ELF Blush, 5. Tarte 12Hr. Amazonian Clay Blush and 5. Benefit Box O' Powder
2. Cream Blush
This is actually a fun one that I love using. This is really thick and really rich in color, some use with fingers but I use a blush for this. Those with dry skin will benefit from this one, unfortunately for those with oily skin, this type of blush tends to clump after a few hours and worse, this has the tendency to smear away. This comes in various forms like sticks, or mousses or those with pumps in them, but still, they are under the 'cream blush' category.

1. NYX Rouge Cream Blush 2. Makeup Forever HD Blush 3. MAC Blush Cream 4. Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blush 5. Maybelline New York Dream Mousse Blush 6. NARS Cosmetics 'The Multiple'
4. Gel Blush
Gel blushes are highly pigmented, but dries really fast, so you have to really know where to apply it and how to apply it, this is best used with fingers, this might not be a good choice for those with dry skin because It would be very difficult to spread, those with normal to oily skin would love this, and it has a sheer finish.

1. MAC 'Just a Pinch' Gel Blush, 2. Tarte CheekStain 3. Revlon Pinch Me 4. YSL 'Voile De Blush' Gel Blush 5. The Balm Stainiac Hint of Tint
5. Tint
Sort of the same with the gel one, highly pigmented. This type of blush stays on for a very long time, even if you rub it off with tissue, you need to wash your face to get rid of it. It dries super fast, so you really have to blend this one out really well and really fast. This is mostly in liquid form. This sort of overlaps with the gel or cream blushes, but tints are basically like liquid.

6. Shimmer Blush
These are also in powder form, but as the name implies 'shimmer'. Its packed with oodles of MICA that is ideal for a nighttime glam look, that can sometimes be used as a highlighter. I like to use this for a night time look or during summer.

CHOOSING YOUR BLUSH COLOR
I've sliced all these down into three categories: FAIR, MEDIUM & DARK.
If your somewhat advanced, you would probably say that anyone can pull off any blush shade, this is also true, but this depends on what type of blush your using, the tools and techniques that you apply.
But of course, I would still recommend this guide, for the most flattering results for your skin color.
1. FAIR
These are basically girls who have like pale/porcelain skin like this one. The general rule here is that if you have fair skin, the blush color you would pick should be light as well, otherwise you would look clownish. Light Pink or A Light Peach is extremely flattering for those with Fair Skin.
2. MEDIUM
Most women would fall under this category, Asians, Hispanics, Native Americans and the like have medium skin tones. The suggested colors for this skin tone would be something between a rosy pink to a deep peach type of color, something with a medium intensity. Don't pick colors that are too light for this kind of skin type either, otherwise you will look ashen.
3. DARK
For this type of skin tone, you wanna use colors that has deep intensities, like a rose or burgundy colors to a deep orange type of color, you don't want to choose a light color for your skin type otherwise you will look washed out instead of having a glowing skin.
So, that is it! I hope you guys enjoyed reading this, and If you want me to do a product review on the products I have posted above please do tell me so I could have it up and running.
If you have any questions or suggestions or additional infos, I would love to hear it from you. ciao!
XOXO
