So, recently I blogged about my new purchased color corrective concealer, and a lot of people are asking me, how to use concealers or why are there even colored concealers. You can get these almost any drugstore (e.g. Watsons) or any Beauty Store (e.g. Pure Beauty).
CONCEALER 101: Concealers are used to cover-up imperfections such as blemishes, hyper-pigmentation, dark circles, spots, etc. In order to provide a flawless finish to your face.
Although some imperfections are color related (e.g. redness on pimples and/or dark/bluish under eyes) CAKING ON MAKE-UP will not help, but it would make the FLAWS/IMPERFECTION. Standout MORE.

So, in order to mask these "color-related" imperfections, you need to use a "neutralizing make-up corrector" such as green, yellow, purple etc.
"NEUTRALIZE" is OUR WORD for this topic.
What do you mean "Neutralize"?
Well, you need to understand how to neutralize colors by understanding the VERY BASIC "COLOR WHEEL"

You might think that this bizarre picture is HARD TO UNDERSTAND. But really, it's a NO BRAINER.
So, Neutralizing colors are those colors which appear on the opposite side of the color.
For example: GREEN neutralizes RED or BLUE neutralizes ORANGE.
So, what imperfection can you think of that has a red hue? Of course! PIMPLES.
Therefore you need to NEUTRALIZE the "RED" pimple with "GREEN" corrective concealer then, cover it with FOUNDATION.
Like I said, even if you CAKE UP on MAKE UP, you will not conceal the problem because the colors like red or blue would still shine through.
SO, WHAT WE DO: CORRECT THE FLAW THEN COVER. EASY RIGHT?
So, let's have a RUN THROUGH with the different color corrective concealers:
Green: Neutralizes red tones on the skin. Use this for covering blemishes, zits, red blotches, rosacea etc.
Yellow: This concealer is referred to sometimes as "Apricot" in color, is used to conceal "bluish" hues like under-eye circle, bruises and also other milder red tones on the skin.
Purple: Used to normalize sallow/yellow complexions and yellow bruises. This also concealer VERY dark spots on dark skin and/or very dark under-eye circles.
There are a lot of variety of CORRECTIVE CONCEALERS. I've already posted the DOLLFACE 15PC CORRECTIVE CONCEALER, I've also tried the SMASHBOX ones and by far my favorite is from GRAFTOBIAN because it is HIGHLY PIGMENTED and this is also used to camouflage TATTOOS, check it out:

So, these are two wheels:

I totally recommend on purchasing one of these, and you can get these for P1,200 each from High-end beauty stores (e.g. Pure Beauty)
For cheaper alternatives, you can go for:

These you can get at anywhere between P200-250 or like the Dollface ones I got for P700.
Also, make sure to use a concealer brush for an EVEN & NICE coating. You can get a Revlon Concealer Brush Tri-Toned High Grade Fibers for anywhere between P250-P300.
Anyway, I hope this would help and this would open up a new world for all of you out there. Bye Beauties!
XOXO
