WHEN was the last time you cleaned your brush?
Cleaning your brushes is also part of being hygienic. Brushes can harbor oil, bacteria and a lot of bad things that can cause breakouts when left unclean.
Sure, clean your brushes with soap and running water.
But is that the proper method?
Remember, you invested in your brushes, therefore you have to learn how to take good care of them by simply knowing how to SPOT CLEAN & DEEP CLEAN (I already discussed in EP.2 the difference of the two).
For SPOT CLEANING, basically you can buy a BRUSH CLEANSER with a spritzer and just spray it on the brush and brush it off in a towel to wipe the dirt away.
but that COSTS a lot of money.
I WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN BRUSH CLEANSER AND MAINTAIN THE SHAPE OF YOUR BRUSHES.
7-STEP D-I-Y BRUSH CLEANSER
MATERIALS:

The things that I use to CLEAN & MAINTAIN my brushes:
1. Clear wide-mouth Glass
2. Distilled water
3. Baby Shampoo
4. Antibacterial Dishwashing Liquid
5. Leave-in conditioner (Sunsilkor you can use any brand)
6. Alcohol (70%)
7. Measuring cup
8. Funnel
9. Cloth
10. Measuring Spoon
11. Metal Spoon
12. Homemade Brush Guard (blue)
13. Empty Spritzer Bottle (small pink bottle at the front)
HOW TO MAKE THE CLEANSER;
STEP 1: Get your measuring cup and pour about 1 CUP of distilled water

STEP 2: Get your measuring spoon and put about 1 Tbsp. of Baby Shampoo

STEP 3: Add also 1 Tbsp. of Dishwashing Liquid

STEP 4: Add 1 Tbsp. Leave-in Conditioner - you need to add this to soften up the bristles of your brush

STEP 5: Add 1/4 cup of Alcohol

STEP 6: Stir gently until leave-in conditioner is dissolved.

STEP 7: Get funnel and transfer onto your spritzer bottle.

Mine has a pretty purple HUE. I love it!
Let's test it OUT!!!

Spray all over the brush!

Swirl around like so for dome shaped brushes to make sure that the products are removed.

Spray and swirl again until its clean.

See how much product we took off from the brush?

Once cleaned, nicely reshape your brushes.

Put brush guards to maintain its shape while its drying, so mine is actually a HOME MADE BRUSH GUARD which I bought about a yard and three fourths of it. If you wanna learn how to make one, I can post a photo tutorial.

Get you clear glass or any container like this and position your brush like so, so that the water can't seep in the metal barrel and wont damage your brush handles due to mold. Gravity will pull away the moisture if its positioned like this.
That's about it! Hope you enjoyed the tutorial and thanks for reading! Bye!
XOXO
