Train Cases...familiar?

Yes! Dear Filipina Readers,

It's a staple in every girl's collection. And this is very useful when travelling, because it not only looks good, it protects your make up tubes, bottles, cases etc. and most importantly your brushes.

So, do not use that old Hanging Bathroom Bag....

[caption id="attachment_790" align="aligncenter" width="490"] Image from Google
BOO![/caption]

This is intended for all your skin care or body care products with BIGGER & STURDIER TUBES.

Make-up and its containers are pretty fragile, therefore you must take care of them! and a Make-up train case will help you get organized.

Prices may vary, but the lowest I've seen by far is at around P1,800 and I think that is the smallest size.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A TRAIN CASE?

1. Functionality - check if there are dividers that you can interchange, check if nothing hinders upon opening and closing, check if the main products/majority of the products you want to put it will fit.

2. Aesthetics - the popular ones are the metal ones, but I personally don't like that, I prefer the black ones that looks like a soft case but it actually is hard, and has a strap so that I would not strain my hands when carrying it.

3. Cost - Of course I will include this! Think of the pros and cons if you get the high end ones which cost up to P22,000. If your not going to use it that often when travelling or doing make-up on others, do not lash out that much money.

WHAT TO PUT IT:

Okay, a lot of you reading my blog are most probably beginners to intermediate, so I will put here the things you have to have in your train cases when travelling:

1. Foundation - Liquid/Powder/Cream/Mousse just choose your favorite ones that you are most likely to wear everyday.

2. Concealer - If I had to have only one make up it would be concealer. You can pack a small concealer palette if you have or if you have concealer jars, sticks, etc. that would be better. MORE SPACE!

3. Moisturizers - Bring your favorite moisturizers and a tinted moisturizer if desired.

4. Primers - Bring you favorite face primer, eyelid primer, & lip primer. These are just small things that can be easily packed.

5. Eyeshadow - General rule: Bring NEUTRAL & EXOTIC colors, may it be a mini-palette or singles. Just bring the two types.

6. Eyeliners  (Pencil, Gel, Liquid, etc.) I'd probably bring about 5 different colored eyeliners, I love to have a selection.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="335"] My Favorite: Chanel

7. Blushes - do not pack too much blushes, ideally, just pack 2-3 of your MOST favorite blushes.

8. Bronzer - Just 1 universal favorite bronzer.

9. Highlighters - Pack 2, may it be your mineralized skin finishes, make sure you pack 2. One for daytime and one for night time.

10. Setting Powder - Just bring one setting powder.

11. Brushes - I highly recommend you put the brushes in a brush roll if the train case can still accommodate the brush roll. Just for added protection and functionality, you can pull it out all at once and not hassle through each one.

12. Lipstick - Normally, I would pack 5 of my favorite lipsticks.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="183"] YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Lipstick

13. Lipgloss - 3 of your favorite lipglosses

14. Mascara - Just 1 for me, PLEASE do not forget the curler.

15. False eyelashes - I'd pack three, be sure to bring the eyelash glue and a tweezers too!

These are the basics, you can pack as many as you want or as little as you want, as long as it fits, the above mentioned are the ones I would normally bring when I am travelling, I do not have the small make up baggies since it has very limited space for my makeup.

I know that well known cosmetic brands also have their own signature train cases like the ones from NYX, its hard to find it here in the Philippines and you have to buy it internationally through online shopping (think about the shipping fee and taxes and the weeks you have to wait).

But its all about really digging in places like Facebook, Multiply, eBay or Sulit.com.ph for more affordable ones or DUPES.

Check this DUPE out, this one is from Suesh and I might just buy one because I'm tired of my old metal train case, and it looks intimidating (lol):

This is by far the best one I've seen.

So the next time you travel, think about all of your glam stuff that you want to protect and bring.

Til next time

XOXO!
